Mocca is an indie band from Bandung. This group consists Prayitno Riko (guitar), Arina Ephipania (vocals and flute), Ahmad Pratama (bass), and Indra Massad (drums).
Early stand At first Arina and Riko is a friend of the National Institute of Technology campus. They joined in a college band 1997's. Because it does not fit with the other members, Arina and Riko also agreed to establish "Mocca". Two years later, they met with Indra and Toma. Indra and Toma was a friend of the college, they studied product design at the National Institute of Technology, Bandung and into Mocca at the same time.
Mocca first appear in the compilation Delicatessen (2002), and immediately captured the hearts of fans's Career One year later they issued their debut album "My Diary" (2003) with the indie label "FFWD". This album exploded on the market. Songs like "Secret Admirer" and "Me and My Boyfriend" became hits everywhere. Video clip "Me and My Boyfriend" was awarded as "best video of the year" version of MTV Indonesia Music awards 2003.
Achievement (Achievement / Award):
In fact they signed a contract with one of indie records in Japan, Excellent Records, to fill one song in the album is a compilation book format rilisannya set (3 Sets) entitled "Pop Renaissance". There are 3 discs released in Japan and Mocca are disc no. 2 with the song "Twist Me Arround".
Mocca own songs in English to facilitate the writing of poetry as well as the reasons of compliance with pop colors with a touch of swing jazz, twee pop, and '60s-style atmosphere.
Mocca re-released their second album in 2005 titled "Friends" is still under indie label, Fast Forward Records. In this album Mocca not perform alone. They hook the two musicians reliably to enrich their music. From within the country, they bring Bob Tutupoli to fill out the sound in the song "This Conversation" and a song made especially for him, "Swing It Bob". They also duet with Swedish musician, Club 8. This Swedish duo Together, Johan and Karolina Komstedt, Mocca the song "I Would Never".
Mocca increasingly uphill career. Not only in the country, they develop wings to Asia. Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, and Japan have enjoyed their albums. In the know 2005, Mocca concert in Singapore and menampilkn The Angels Rock Band.
Sam also involved in soundtrack creation. This quartet worked on the movie soundtrack "Endnotes School" by Hanung Bramantyo and TV soap opera soundtrack "Fairish the Series".
Sam also made a mini album contains 6 tracks, 2 in the Indonesian language. Mini album was previously titled "Sunday Afternoon", but was released under the title "To Rena". Mocca inspired by the script of the film the children titled "For Rena". Mocca not only inspiration. They also got a chance to enter the "Happy!" and "Before You Sleep" as the soundtrack to the film's Riri Riza.
In 2007, Mocca issued their third album, "Colours". This album contains new material, including two cover songs, namely "Hyperballad" (Bjork) and "Sing" (The Carpenters) as well as a collaboration with Pelle Carlberg (Edson) who yesterday had a guest on LA Light Indiefest, in the song "Let Me Go 'In 2010 they issued a mini-album as a token of appreciation for their fans and their time together for 10 years.
